The comeback followed sustained late pressure. Guéhi headed in substitute Rayan Cherki's corner, while Gvardiol converted from close range with Cherki again supplying the final ball. The winner was initially ruled out for offside before a VAR check allowed it.
The useful tactical consequence is not that pressure always guarantees a goal, but that City's box occupation and delivery quality remained dangerous late in the match. Bournemouth protected a lead for most of the afternoon; City changed the result only when two late actions finally matched their territorial pressure.
