Nigeria's Falconets have begun training in Trzebnica ahead of the 2026 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup. The NFF says the squad started work at Stadion Miejski after arriving in Poland on Tuesday.
The preparation schedule includes a friendly against hosts Poland on 28 August and another against South Korea on 1 September. Those matches offer contrasting tests: adapting to the host environment first, then facing a different technical and tempo profile before the tournament begins.
Nigeria are in Group F with Spain, China PR and New Caledonia. The NFF lists the fixtures for 7, 10 and 13 September respectively. The key preparation question is whether the Falconets can build a structure flexible enough for three very different opponents without losing their own transition threat.
Captain Joy Igbokwe and defender Faridat Abdulwahab were not granted visas and have been replaced by Vivian Kachi and Alaba Olabiyi, according to the federation. That makes the friendlies important not only for fitness but for rebuilding leadership and defensive relationships.
