Nigeria’s Falconets defeated host nation Poland 1–0 in a pre-tournament friendly, according to the Nigeria Football Federation. It is a preparation result, not part of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup group stage.

The first positive is defensive control: a clean sheet offers a base before the Group F opener against Spain on 7 September. The second is the value of competing in tournament conditions in Poland rather than relying only on training sessions. The third is sharper: Nigeria must now turn promising moments into repeatable chance creation against stronger pressure.

One friendly cannot settle the starting eleven or forecast the tournament. It can, however, reveal which combinations cope with the tempo and which areas need correction before Spain. The Falconets then face China PR on 10 September and New Caledonia on 13 September.
