Nigeria’s Falconets have arrived in Katowice for the final stage of preparation before their FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup opener against Spain. The Nigeria Football Federation says the squad moved from its Trzebnica training base on Thursday after ten days of tactical, technical and physical work.

The two warm-up results offer useful evidence without guaranteeing tournament success. Nigeria beat hosts Poland 1–0 and then drew 1–1 with Korea Republic, with Mary Mamudu scoring in both matches. The contrast matters: the Falconets found a way to protect a lead in one test and had to manage a level contest in the other.

Spain on Monday is a different problem. Nigeria’s first requirement is control in the opening phase—defending space without losing the ability to counter. After Spain, Group F continues against China PR on 10 September and New Caledonia on 13 September. Those dates are confirmed; starting elevens and tactical selections are not.

The camp has delivered preparation minutes and two unbeaten results. The tournament now asks the harder question: can Nigeria reproduce that structure when the pressure becomes real?
