Doma United face their next three home matches without spectators after the NPFL imposed sanctions following the 1–1 draw against Kun Khalifat in Gombe. Premium Times and Punch report a total financial penalty of ₦5.25 million, making the ruling a practical issue for supporters as well as a disciplinary matter for the club.
The reports place the incidents at the 17 October Matchday Nine fixture at Pantami Stadium. They describe the league’s findings over security and conduct towards match officials and the visiting team. These are the grounds set out in the reported disciplinary notice, not a separate criminal finding.
Premium Times reports that the league required ‘adequate and effective security’. That phrase goes to the central obligation: a host club must protect the people taking part in the match, including opponents and officials. A home advantage cannot depend on visitors accepting intimidation as part of the price of playing away.
The reported total comprises a ₦3 million security fine, two further ₦1 million penalties and ₦250,000 towards medical treatment for Kun Khalifat coach Obinna Uzoho. Both outlets also describe an appeal window measured from the notice. An appeal opportunity is not the same as a successful appeal, and no reversal is established by the cited reports.
For supporters, the immediate point is to check the club and league’s latest access notice before travelling to an affected home fixture. The restriction concerns spectators at home games; it should not be rewritten as an automatic cancellation of the matches or a points deduction. Clear communication matters because fans can lose travel money as well as their chance to attend. What would make the biggest difference to safety at NPFL grounds: better access control, stronger stewarding or more consistent enforcement?
