CONFIRMED: Aston Villa won 3–2 at Club Brugge on Tuesday. UEFA’s roundup lists John McGinn, Emiliano Buendía and Nicolas Jackson as Villa’s scorers, with Jackson registering his first goal for the club.
The result gives Villa a winning start, but conceding twice ensures there is more to discuss than the scoreline. PITCHNAIJA ANALYSIS: the attacking return is encouraging; managing the spaces behind those attacks remains an important viewing question.
