All four Wednesday Champions League play-off ties start level on aggregate: AEK Athens-Levski Sofia is 0-0, while Viking-GNK Dinamo, Celje-Slovan Bratislava and Lyon-Fenerbahçe resume at 2-2, 1-1 and 1-1. UEFA lists the matches for 8:00pm West Africa Time.
If a tie remains level after 90 minutes, UEFA's 2026/27 regulations require two 15-minute periods of extra time. There is no away-goals tiebreaker. If the teams remain level after extra time, qualification is decided by a penalty shoot-out.
That rule changes late-game decisions. An away team does not gain a special mathematical advantage by scoring; both sides must manage the same aggregate score, fatigue and substitution choices.
The winners enter the Champions League league phase and the defeated teams move into the Europa League league phase. For viewers, the clean checkpoint is aggregate score first, extra time second and penalties only if the tie is still level.
